Aramid Kevlar Fiber Fabric

Product detail
Aramid woven fabric is a kind of fabric woven from aramid fibers (such as Kevlar fibers, Nomex fibers, etc.). Aramid fiber is a synthetic high-performance fiber with excellent tensile strength, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and wear resistance. Aramid woven fabric is widely used in many fields, especially in the protection, aerospace, automotive and other industries.
It is weaved mainly by para-aramid fiber 200D \ 400D \ 600D \ 800D \ 1000D \ 1500D \ 3000D.
Characteristics of aramid fiber
Aramid fiber is a polyamide fiber with benzene rings in its chemical structure. It has the following characteristics:
- High strength and high rigidity: Aramid fiber is stronger than steel and has very high tensile strength.
- High temperature resistance: Kevlar fiber can withstand temperatures up to 500°C, especially suitable for high temperature environments.
- Corrosion resistance: Aramid fiber has strong tolerance to most chemicals, acids, alkalis, etc.
- Good electrical insulation: Aramid fiber has good electrical insulation, so it is widely used in some electronic equipment and electrical fields.
- Abrasion resistance: Aramid fiber has good wear resistance and can be used in areas that require anti-friction.
Characteristics of aramid woven fabric
Aramid woven fabric is a fabric made by interweaving aramid fibers in different weaving methods. Common weaving methods include plain weave, twill weave and satin weave. Aramid woven fabric has the following characteristics:
- High strength and high toughness: Since aramid fiber itself has high strength and high toughness, the overall structure of aramid woven fabric is also very strong and can withstand large tension and pressure.
- High temperature resistance and fire resistance: Aramid woven fabric has very good high temperature resistance, especially aramid fibers such as Kevlar and Nomex, which can maintain good performance in high temperature environments and are suitable for fire prevention, firefighting, aerospace and other fields.
- Lightweight: Aramid woven fabric is lighter than metal materials, so it can reduce weight while maintaining high strength.
- Impact resistance and cut resistance: Aramid woven fabric can provide strong impact resistance and cut resistance, suitable for protective equipment.
- Flexibility: Compared with carbon fiber, aramid fiber has better flexibility and can bend to a certain extent without breaking easily.
Application of aramid woven fabric
The unique properties of aramid woven fabric make it widely used in many fields, mainly including:
- Bulletproof vests:Aramid woven fabrics, especially Kevlar fiber woven fabrics, are widely used in the manufacture of bulletproof vests and puncture-proof clothing. Its high strength and tensile strength can effectively disperse and absorb ballistic energy, protecting the wearer from gunshot injuries.
- Fireproof clothing:Nomex fiber is widely used in fireproof clothing for firefighters, racing drivers and other professions. Nomex can provide effective protection in high temperature environments, preventing high temperature and flames from harming the human body.
- Aerospace:Aramid woven fabrics are used for protective materials in the aerospace field, such as thermal protection materials for spacecraft, fireproof insulation layers for aircraft, etc.
- Racing and high-performance cars: Aramid woven fabrics are widely used in the body, seats, brake discs and other parts of racing cars and supercars, providing additional strength and high temperature resistance.
- Protective materials:In some construction and industrial fields, aramid woven fabrics are used to make protective nets, thermal insulation pads, wall panels, etc., providing fire resistance, impact resistance, corrosion resistance and other functions.
- Insulation materials: Aramid woven fabrics have good thermal insulation properties, so they are often used as thermal insulation materials in high-temperature working environments.
- Cable sheath:The electrical insulation of aramid woven fabrics makes it used in the protection of the outer layer of cables, which can effectively prevent electrical short circuits and the influence of the external environment.
Production process of aramid woven fabrics
The production process of aramid woven fabrics includes:
Manufacturing of aramid fibers: Aramid fibers are obtained through chemical polymerization reactions. Common aramid fibers include Kevlar and Nomex, which have different performance characteristics.
Fiber weaving: Aramid fibers are woven into cloth through a weaving process, and can be woven in a variety of ways such as plain weave, twill, and satin.
Post-processing and shaping: Depending on the needs, aramid woven fabrics may undergo special post-processing processes, such as resin impregnation, shaping, etc., to increase their durability and specific functions.
Advantages of aramid woven fabrics
- High strength and high toughness, able to withstand large external forces.
- Good high temperature resistance, can withstand high temperatures of around 500°C, especially suitable for high temperature and fire environments.
- Impact resistance and cut resistance, suitable for the manufacture of protective equipment.
- Lightweight, can effectively reduce the weight of protective equipment or other products.
- Corrosion resistance, good tolerance to acids, alkalis and other chemicals.
