A resist\u00eancia \u00e0 compress\u00e3o pode ser aumentada em 1,3 a 2,0 vezes atrav\u00e9s da implementa\u00e7\u00e3o de i\u00f5es de boro acelerados por alta tens\u00e3o, o que refina a estrutura cristalina. A fibra de carbono \u00e0 base de PAN atingiu um m\u00f3dulo de elasticidade de 690GPa e uma resist\u00eancia \u00e0 tra\u00e7\u00e3o de 3,4GPa. Est\u00e3o a ser desenvolvidas tecnologias de moldagem de alta velocidade, incluindo a moldagem por infus\u00e3o de resina, a moldagem por infus\u00e3o de pel\u00edcula de resina (RFI), a moldagem RTM, a moldagem por pultrus\u00e3o, a moldagem por enrolamento de alta velocidade (FW) e a moldagem SMC\/BMC. Na moldagem em autoclave de pe\u00e7as de aeronaves, est\u00e3o a ser introduzidas m\u00e1quinas autom\u00e1ticas de coloca\u00e7\u00e3o de camadas com controlo digital (NC) para otimizar a efici\u00eancia da coloca\u00e7\u00e3o de pr\u00e9-impregnados curvos.
